General Collection of Information. Throughout Schoolbinder, we collect a variety of various types of user data and information. For instance, we collect and store the information you submit to us when you register or upgrade your account, the email addresses of those who communicate with us, site tracking data on the pages you visit on Schoolbinder only, and most other information that you voluntarily submit to us. The information we collect is used solely to provide to you a rich user experience where you can quickly and easily access your class information, and is not shared with or sold to any other organization for any reason at all, commercial or not.
Possible Exceptions. While we promise to never share or sell your data to other organizations, there are a few instances where we may have to provide it to other entities. The only situations where we will share your personal information are under the following, very limited circumstances:
Registrationg and Account Information. When you sign up for Schoolbinder, the minimum information we collect from you is your name, email address, and passsword for logging in. During registration, you may also provide to us your address, phone number, and billing information like credit card numbers. While most of this information is stored in our databases, no credit card information is ever saved and any password you submit is immediately encrypted. We never store any passwords in plain text anywhere, and it is impossible for us to recover any password you use.
Usage and Tracking Data. As you browse and use Schoolbinder on http://myschoolbinder.com, we also collect a variety of usage data, such as the pages you browse, how long you stay on them, which site you came from, and other objective data on how you interact with the site. While Schoolbinder attaches your personally identifiable information to this tracking data that is stored in our own databases, no personally identifiable information is ever stored or shared with any third party site tracking service, such as Google Analytics. The only tracking data we provide Google Analytics will never contain your account or other personal information.
Cookies. A cookie is a small amount of data, which often includes an anonymous unique identifier, that is sent to your browser from a web site's computers and stored on your computer's hard drive. Cookies are required to use the Schoolbinder service, and although we use cookies to record current session information (similar to the tracking and user data referenced in the above section), we never use permanent cookies. For instance, you are required to sign in to Schoolbinder after a certain period of time has elapsed to protect you against others accidentally accessing your account contents.
Class Information. We also store all class information, assignments, files, notes, discussions, mail messages, links, reminders, and all other content that you submit to Schoolbinder as you use the site. We store this information to provide to you the Schoolbinder service, so that you can access everything you save, whenever you want. All information that you store is only accessible by you when you log in (or the students that you have authorized). We never share information, distribute it, or sell it for any reason and we never will.
Deleting Site Content. When you delete a course, assignment, test, note, file, or any type of content from Schoolbinder, it is gone forever. For privacy and data security reasons, we have decided to permanently delete this data, and as such, there is no way to get it back once you've confirmed that you want to delete it. This ensures that only the data you want stored here is ever kept at Schoolbinder.
Deleting Your Account. You can also delete your account at any time, if you wish. For more information on this process, please check the Help files, which will contain instructions on how to go about removing your account completely. Alternatively, you can just email us at help@myschoolbinder.com with your user information; we'll ask to verify you and then we can take care of the removal. Deleting your account is irreversible and it removes all data you have stored with us.
Changes to This Policy. Schoolbinder may periodically update this policy. If we do, we will notify you about significant changes in the way we treat personal information by sending a notice to the primary email address specified in your account or by placing a prominent notice on our site.
Disclosure. As mentioned above, Schoolbinder may disclose personally identifiable information under special circumstances, such as to comply with subpoenas or when your actions violate the Terms and Conditions or any applicable law.
Questions. For more on what we do or to contact us with concerns or questions, please head on over to the About page and send us an email. We always value your opinion and will get back to you within one business day.
